The company founders understood the importance of tool materials when Voigtländer and Lohmann filed a patent application in 1914 for the production of tungsten and molybdenum carbide for tools.

Today, carbide and technical ceramic are selected and used in various compositions and in a solution-oriented manner. In addition, there are tool steels that are coated in different manners, depending on the application for which they are to be used.

Constant comparison with customer requirements and ongoing participation in cross-company development projects as well as close contact with research institutions result in further improvement of the materials used.
